On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, all the staff and my own behalf, I welcome all new and returning students to the Students' Affairs Unit in the University.

As the Office of the Dean of Students we commit ourselves to the facilitation of a conducive living environment that enhances student learning. We aspire to promote a caring and safe community that increases students' abilities to learn and live healthy lifestyles. We promote inclusiveness, integrity, transparency, accountability, academic freedom.

We assist students to coexist, think critically, practice skills and good values; all of which can be useful throughout their lifetimes. We are responsive to the organization, coordination and administration of various non-academic aspects, social welfare and personnel services for students registered in the university.

These include accommodation, student governance, general counselling and career guidance, disciplinary control, sport and recreation, social welfare (i.e. health, security, hardship, hostel cleaning), horticultural aspects (i.e. campus hygiene and sanitation, refuse collection, amenity horticulture) and the continuous engagement with all our students through orientation, seminars and other interactive platforms.

The functional capacity of the Dean of Students’ Office is discharged through various units, vis-a-vis; Administration, Counselling/Chaplaincy, Sports and Recreation, and Student Welfare and Residences.

The tradition of coexistence, therefore, is the heart beat of our Office. I know that it will not be difficult for all of you to join the Kwame Nkrumah University bus of loving and caring students. With regard to your social interaction on Campus, we encourage all students to familiarise themselves with the students' rules and regulations as a guide in being part of the University life.

At all times students are encouraged to read notices from the notice boards, student portal and Kwame Nkrumah University website. In conclusion, we heartily welcome you to Kwame Nkrumah University and urge you to feel at home. We shall always be available to give you support that you would require from us anytime.
